Abstract: In the context of increasing turbulence in the external environment, existing management models are becoming progressively less suitable for the requirements of the modern market, as they fail to provide adequate flexibility, adaptability, and innovative capacity. This emphasizes the need to rethink the conceptual foundations of internal process transformation. The aim of the article is to develop and substantiate a conceptual model for reengineering business processes in transport enterprises, taking into account industry-specific characteristics. The specific characteristics of transport enterprises as complex management systems are highlighted, which influence business process reengineering (high capital intensity, low technological mobility of production assets, spatial dispersion of operations). The stages of business process reengineering development in the transport sector are examined. It has been determined that the greatest potential for reengineering in transport enterprises lies in processes involving customer interaction, transport planning and dispatching, management of transport infrastructure and rolling stock, analytics and managerial decision-making, and personnel management. A ranking of reengineering initiatives in transport enterprises has been proposed. Barriers that may significantly hinder the achievement of planned transformation results have been identified (organizational, technological, resource-related, methodological, regulatory, and external). Critical success factors that ensure the realization of expected transformation outcomes in transport enterprises have been highlighted. A conceptual model of business process reengineering for a transport enterprise has been developed, including strategic, technological, organizational, customer, and process perspectives. Efficient reengineering in a transport enterprise involves a balanced approach to transforming these loops, which is ensured by the addition of a synchronization loop.
Keywords: business process, transformation, reengineering, model, enterprise.
