Abstract:
This article explores the conceptual foundations of enterprise cyclic development as a dynamic open system functioning under socioeconomic transformation, market volatility, and innovation turbulence. It is demonstrated that cyclicality is not solely a macroeconomic phenomenon but reflects a fundamental pattern of micro-level changes – such as shifts in strategic focus, internal structure, and business models. The article substantiates the interconnected nature of growth, stabilization, crisis, and renewal phases, each driven by both external impulses and internal capacities. The influence of external (technological, regulatory, macroeconomic, globalization, and demographic) and internal (innovation, managerial, organizational, resource, and cultural) factors on phase dynamics is analyzed. The enterprise is conceptualized as a reflexive system capable of shaping its development trajectory rather than merely reacting to environmental changes. The article argues that a cyclic approach enhances the accuracy of strategic diagnostics, scenario planning, and adaptive management of enterprise development. Typical risks of phase transitions and the importance of internal readiness for phase transformation are also discussed.
