Abstract: The aim of the article is to study educational and professional programs in the specialty «Medicine» on the formation of future doctors’ communicative competencies that meet modern requirements. At present, medical education in Ukraine is mainly aimed at acquiring professional competencies by future doctors. But, as the study of foreign and domestic publications has shown, the requirements for their qualifications are much wider. It is very important to provide students with knowledge and skills, and ultimately competencies related to the ability to communicate, establish friendly relations with patients based on partnership and respect. The article analyzes the modern requirements for doctors in terms of communicative competencies, the requirements for doctors in accordance with regulations, as well as the standard of higher education in the specialty «Medicine» and educational and professional programs of medical higher education institutions in Ukraine. The analysis showed that in the normative act, which describes the requirements for the qualification characteristics of a doctor, there are requirements only for professional knowledge, and there is no communicative component. The analysis of the standard showed that communication competencies include «the ability to use information and communication technologies» and «the ability to interpersonal interaction». However, these are general competencies that students should have in all specialties. Therefore, the peculiarities of communications precisely in the medical field are not taken into account. Each higher education institution has the right to add additional competencies and disciplines to the educational and professional program, but, as the analysis has shown, this is not the case. On the other hand, the list of communicative competencies provided by specialists is much wider. Another and no less important issue that is disclosed in publications, especially in foreign ones, is the assessment of communicative competencies that applicants for higher medical education received during their studies. As follows from the analysis of the relevant educational and professional programs, insufficient attention is paid to this issue too, while only the professional competencies of the future doctor are evaluated. Thus, the study has revealed the discrepancy between the communicative competencies that are formed in future doctors during training and modern requirements.
Keywords: communicative competence, future doctor, educational and professional programs.
