Abstract:
Under conditions of uncertainty, traditional approaches to managing a bank’s business processes lose their efficiency because they are oriented toward a stable environment. To maintain the economic dynamics of bank development, it is necessary to implement modern management methods that provide adaptability, risk-orientation, and the ability to quickly adjust strategic and operational decisions. The aim of the study is to systematize the existing instruments for managing banks’ business processes as a factor in ensuring their economic development under uncertain external conditions, and to provide recommendations on applying modern instruments to enhance the efficiency and resilience of bank business process management. The article highlights the specific characteristics of the banking sector’s functioning amid increasing economic dynamics, intensified competition, and the active adoption of financial technologies. It is substantiated that in conditions of increasing dynamism of economic processes, characterized by a high degree of uncertainty, traditional approaches to managing banks’ business processes are losing their efficiency, creating the need for the implementation of new management instruments and methods. Based on the systematization of existing instruments, it has been found that relying on a functional approach no longer ensures an adequate level of performance, and efficient development of banking business processes requires a process-oriented approach aimed at optimizing all stages of the processes to achieve maximum efficiency of the final outcomes. The study highlights the main classification features of modern approaches to managing bank business processes under uncertainty, including strategic, process-oriented, flexible, technological, risk-oriented, and customer-oriented instruments. Practical recommendations are proposed for the application of the specified instruments to enhance efficiency, ensure stability, and foster the economic development of banks in the current unstable environment.

Keywords: bank business processes, uncertainty, economic development, modern instruments, process management.
