Abstract:
This article is devoted to the substantiation and development of methodical approaches to the assessment of economic security of enterprises, which will ensure a comprehensive consideration of financial, production, resource, innovative, and other factors, as well as allow for the timely identification of threats, determination of the security level, and formation of management decisions to enhance the security. It is substantiated that modern economic conditions, particularly during the transformative economy of Ukraine, necessitate the implementation of new approaches by enterprises to monitor their economic security. The process of its assessment should be based on a systematic approach that takes into account the interconnections between key subsystems of the enterprise – production, financial, personnel, informational, and others. Such an assessment should aim not only to identify vulnerable elements of activity but also to timely forecast potential crisis situations. It has been determined that the assessment of the economic security of an enterprise is a complex and multifactorial process that requires a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. The methodological approaches to its implementation are based on a multi-level study of internal and external threats, an assessment of the state of resource potential, the level of financial stability, and the ability of the enterprise to adapt to changes in the external environment. It has been defined that the methodological instruments include expert assessments, integral modeling, benchmarking, constructing risk matrices, and using the method of weighted average indicators. Each of these approaches has its own advantages, specific application, and certain limitations, and their comprehensive combination provides a more complete and objective assessment of the level of economic security. It is proved that the methodological approaches to assessing the economic security of an enterprise must be adapted to modern challenges, including the digitalization of the economy, globalization processes, environmental instability, and the rise of geopolitical risks. The implementation of a systemic approach by enterprises in this area allows for the timely identification of potential threats, minimizing their negative impact, and maintaining a high level of competitiveness in the market.
