Abstract:
The aim of the article is to determine recommendations for organizations operating in the field of information technology regarding the scaling of project work and minimizing negative impacts in the context of polycrisis. The objective of the article was to identify external environmental threats to the functioning of an IT organization and to assess how external environment crises (summarized under the term «polycrisis») affect operations of such organization, particularly from the perspective of changes in the internal environment of the organization. Due to the specificity of assembling of business processes in high-tech organizations that develop and implement projects, the main challenge for managers is the consequences of scaling projects. The reasons for this situation include the need to revise planned project indicators, consideration of stakeholder requirements, and the necessity to track changes in client requirements with their subsequent implementation during project execution. As a result of the research, it was noted that the success of project activities during the implementation of individual phases of the project is determined by the ability of project managers to utilize leadership tools, strategic, motivational, operational, communication, adaptive, anticipatory, and adaptive management depending on the challenges faced by the organization at various stages of activity. It is underscored that in conditions of polycrisis, the activity of project management managers involves managing changes and adaptive management, as existing in a crisis environment results in a certain chaotization of the latter, and thus an increase in its mutability. To minimize the negative impact of the manifestation of polycrisis elements, it is important to maintain internal control over business processes within the organization, promptly adapt it to environmental changes, and evaluate the success of achieving project goals as a combination of assessment by its stakeholders (quality criterion) as well as adherence to time and cost constraints. Project management should focus on identifying the key phases of the project and evaluating their efficiency in delivering project outcomes within the primary constraints.

Keywords: project management, scaling, polycrisis, adaptive management, organization, change management.
