Abstract:
The aim of the article is to identify potential risks, build a risk management model, and develop an algorithm for managerial decisions to respond timely to the possible risks that arise in the transport and logistics sector. The relevance of classifying risk management methods is substantiated by dividing them into two categories: preventive and corrective. A model of risk management at a transport and logistics enterprise is proposed, allowing for prompt responses to the challenges of a changing environment, enhancing competition, and ensuring economic security. In turn, the formation of the risk management model begins with the modeling of all business processes, utilizing the dialectical method of cognition, along with the methods of synthesis and analysis. The effect of the specified risk management methodology manifests through the minimization of financial losses, the identification of irrational management of key production processes, which may be caused by internal and external factors: losses during transportation, inventory losses, staff errors, disruptions in the supply process, inefficient planning and management, irrational routes, and lack of automated data processing. This effect allows for the rational distribution of variable costs that depend on the volume of shipments, as well as the optimization of fixed costs, and the control of taxes and mandatory payment costs. Efficient risk management reduces uncertainty and makes the company more attractive to investors who prefer companies with minimal financial and operational risks, thereby enhancing potential appeal to partners and investors, and ensuring growth of the value of shares and the business as a whole. In particular, enhancing the reputation in business – minimizing risks – is a sign of the company’s reliability to partners and creditors.
