Abstract: The aim of the article is to determine the current state of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the global economy and to summarize the existing trends in the demand for AI technologies. The use of artificial intelligence in the global economy is actively growing every year due to its ability to make countries more competitive and to contribute to their economic growth. Regarding the industries whose companies are most implementing artificial intelligence technologies, it is worth noting that in the United States these are aerospace, automotive, healthcare, the financial sector, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In China, the leaders in the use of AI are the automotive, electronics, financial sector, healthcare, and textile industries. In most EU countries, AI technologies are being implemented by companies in the automotive, chemical, energy, and financial sectors. In Ukraine, companies that have implemented artificial intelligence technologies belong to the sectors of metallurgy, machine engineering, energy, finance, and agriculture. Despite the fact that the use of artificial intelligence creates new opportunities for increasing overall productivity, the rates of its implementation and the scale of its use vary significantly across different countries. For example, in the United States, technology companies and startups are engaged in the development of AI. The countries of the European Union, most of which have made significant progress in the development of artificial intelligence, pay special attention to ensuring safety and ethical aspects in its use. The Chinese government is promoting the development of artificial intelligence technologies through public investments and programs to accelerate the digitalization of the economy. In Ukraine, even under unfavorable conditions for doing business during the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, the demand for artificial intelligence technologies is rapidly increasing, especially in the fields of agriculture, finance, and healthcare. In the global economy, artificial intelligence is qualitatively changing industrial processes; it is used for diagnosing diseases and developing personalized medicine; it automates financial transactions, analyzes big data, develops fintech solutions, and enhances the efficiency of banking and insurance services; it helps improve the efficiency of the agricultural sector by optimizing agricultural processes through the automation of systems for monitoring soil and crop conditions; it transforms the transport and logistics sector by optimizing routes and implementing autonomous vehicles, etc. Several main trends can be identified in the global economy regarding the demand for artificial intelligence technologies: an increasing demand from transport and logistics companies, agricultural holdings, financial sector institutions, and the healthcare sector.
Keywords: artificial intelligence, technology companies, digitalization of the economy, digital transformation, digital infrastructure.
