Abstract:
The aim of the article is to identify the problems of regional development in Ukraine during the pre-war, wartime, and post-wartime periods according to the types of territories. In the context of full-scale military aggression, tasks related to the exacerbation of pre-war problems and the emergence of post-wartime challenges come to the forefront. Given the heterogeneity inherent in regional development in Ukraine, it is important to emphasize the consideration of new features that determine changes in the typology of territories and require a comprehensive approach to addressing issues in the pre-war, wartime, and post-wartime periods. The article defines that potential problems of post-wartime recovery of Ukrainian territories should be considered in connection with the challenges of both wartime and pre-war periods, as, in particular, the coronavirus pandemic has had a significant negative impact on socioeconomic development, which is characterized by the coincidence of the need to overcome the consequences of this impact with a russia’s full-scale invasion. The problems of regional development of Ukraine in both the pre-war and wartime periods are summarized, which made it possible to outline a certain range of challenges of the post-wartime period, which can currently be identified as the reconstruction of infrastructure, the creation of conditions for the return of the population and relocated businesses, demining of territories, the formation of mechanisms to prevent possible future threats (international integration, development of the military-industrial complex). A classification of territories is proposed, firstly, for the pre-war period and, secondly, for the wartime and post-wartime periods, taking into account the formation of certain features as a result of the war.
